Read on for more details on the various floor types that Underfloor Heating Solutions can work with to install an underfloor heating system for your property in West London, Oxfordshire & the Home Counties

Why Design Matters

At Underfloor Heating Solutions the most important aspect is designing a bespoke underfloor heating system that will not only be great to use but will also be economical and efficient. There are four easy steps to purchasing your system. They are listed below.

Solid floor construction

A screed floor construction is the simplest and most efficient way of installing underfloor heating.
The heating tube is installed by clipping through a polythene protection layer directly into the insulation. Screed is then poured or hand laid over the pipes and insulation.

Floating floor construction

New low profile underfloor heating can be easily fitted into any property whether old or new.
Existing floors can be heated by using pre-grooved insulation panels. The heating pipe work is simply put into the panel before the final floor covering is laid. The benefits of this include:

  • Can be used on ground and upper floors of the building
  • No requirement for a ply layer to be pre-fixed over chipboard floors
  • Can be overlaid with 4-6mm plywood for direct carpeting giving a very low height build-up
  • Laminates, natural timber and engineered floors can be ‘floated’ directly over the panel quickly and easily without battening
  • Installation times and drying issues are greatly reduced compared with screed systems.

Timber floor construction

The diffusion plate system is designed for timber joist floors.
The system uses aluminium plates to diffuse the heat over the floor area. Plates heat faster than screed systems resulting in quicker reaction times. This system can be successfully used in older properties. For more information on our range of services, feel free to speak to a member of our team today.
